Behavior Support Administrative Assistant

$23.00 - $27.00/hr (DOE)

Job Description

The Behavior Supports Administrative Assistant (BSAA) position plays an important role in assisting in supporting  individuals served at the Ron Wilson Center. The BSAA works closely with certified Behavior Professionals 1 and  2 to assist in assessing needs and providing the intervention support for individuals who may require elevated  systems due to challenging behaviors. The Behavior Supports Administrative Assistant position is under the  supervision of the Director of Training and Compliance and assists to provide timely and accurate  documentation, writing Mental Health Plans and Staffing Guidelines, documentation/tracking, training, and  implementation of plans for agency programs. All work is discussed and reviewed by a certified Behavior  Professional. Developed plans are to be implemented, trained, tracked, and updated consistently and timely.

The BSAA must complete additional OIS training and participate in OIS oversight training as assigned. The BSAA  will work closely with the Director of Training and Compliance, Behavior Professionals, individuals,  management, support staff, counselors, team members, and others who may play a role in the individuals’ plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 18 years of age
  2. Minimum of two years’ experience in the general supervision, care, and support of individuals with  intellectual/developmental disabilities in a community residential setting.
  3. Approval to work after a background check through the State of Oregon
  4. Current and valid state issued driver’s license, excellent driving record, proof of insurance, and be able  to be insured by the Ron Wilson Center Auto Insurance Carrier.
  5. CPR and First Aid certification
  6. OIS trained and certified
  7. Maintain a minimum of 12 hours of training within the previous 12 months at all times 8. Ability to work independently without direct supervision while following RWC policies, procedures, and  practices
  8. Capable of responding to and handling emergencies
  9. Able to read, write, and converse fluently in English
  10. Basic computer skills
  11. Positive team player with a friendly attitude and the ability to work with diverse groups of people
  12. Demonstrates aptitude while developing the skills of writing, training, and implementing all facets and  process of mental health plans, staffing guidelines, tracking, etc.
  13. Experience and understanding of Individual Support Plans, Behavior Support Plans, Functional  Assessments, staffing guidelines, tracking, and reviews for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental  Disabilities
  14. Energetic and engaging training style using all three learning styles (i.e. visual, audio, and kinesthetic) 16. A thorough understanding of documentation required in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities  Services field
  15. A strong person centered ethic
  16. Ability to obtain and maintain certification as an OIS Oversight Instructor

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  2. Ability to safely perform OIS Protective Physical Interventions
  3. Ability to perform First Aid and CPR
  4. Ability to evacuate without assistance in the event of an emergency

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A 2-year college degree (AA) is desired
  2. Knowledge of OAR’s desired.
  3. Working knowledge of OAR’s and RWC policies, procedures, and practices.
  4. Knowledge of and ability to apply the following skills, (not all inclusive): Management skills, Computer  skills, ability to multi-task, working knowledge of Ron Wilson Center policies and procedures, leadership  skills, communication skills.
  5. Experience in the general supervision, care, and support services of adults with developmental  disabilities in a community residential program is desired.
  6. Experience in writing, documentation, and data entry preferred.

*Writing is a crucial component of this position. Candidates selected after an interview will be asked to provide a  writing sample/assignment.
